This year’s Open Farm Sunday was one of our busiest yet, with nearly 4,000 visitors joining us on the farm. It was a fantastic opportunity to open our doors and show the wider community what goes on behind every punnet of fruit.
The feedback from the day was overwhelmingly positive. Many guests told us they were genuinely impressed by what they saw, and left with a much better understanding of the care, skill and commitment that goes into growing high-quality fruit. For our teams, it was a chance to share the work they are proud of, and to answer questions from visitors of all ages.
We were delighted to welcome many local businesses and schools to the event, helping us connect with the community around us. Lidl also joined us on the day to promote their Lidl Foodies programme, running fun activities for children that helped young visitors learn more about food and where it comes from.
It was a long and demanding day, but a hugely rewarding one. Thanks to the generosity of our visitors, we raised over £7,200 for HHP Charity. We would like to thank everyone who came along and supported the cause, and every member of our team who helped make the day such a success.
This year also marked an important milestone, as LEAF Open Farm Sunday celebrated its 20th anniversary. We were honoured to be invited to the official celebration event, which was attended by HRH The Duchess of Edinburgh.
We were also proud to receive a congratulatory letter recognising our contribution to the initiative and our ongoing commitment to engaging with the local community. Opening our farm to the public is something we value greatly, and we look forward to welcoming visitors again next year.
